Reclaiming Connection, Voice & Childhood Through Storytelling

Hi, I'm Kate

Back in 2023, I found myself in the darkest moment of my life.

Just before my son’s 10th birthday, we were forcibly separated, and I lost contact with the one person whose safety, joy, and voice mattered most to me.

The pain of that separation was beyond words. As a mother, I was heartbroken. As a woman, I was silenced. As a human being, I was terrified.

Our bond had been shattered by years of systemic failure, institutional disbelief, and a culture that punished me for speaking up. I was labelled, ignored, and stripped of the right to protect my child.

But I knew I had to survive. More importantly, I knew my son needed to know that his voice still mattered, even when the world refused to hear it.

How Stories Saved Us

When we were spoke, just one hour a week via FaceTime, we began reading together.

Then we started creating stories. He became the hero of his own adventures. I was his scribe. Grandad became his illustrator.

Through storytelling, he found confidence. He discovered agency. And most of all, he remembered who he was.

Together, we co-created The Adventures of Gabriel, a deeply personal story that began as something just for him. It was his safe space, his voice, his journey.

Later, he asked me to turn it into a book, not just for him, but for anyone who has ever felt unheard, unseen, or uncertain, and needed to dig deep and remember to never, ever give up.

It’s now been 16 months since we last saw each other in person. What began as a private lifeline between us is now inspiring other children to write their own hero stories, reclaim their voices, and articulate their dreams through storytelling.

The StoryQuest™ Mission

Today, I lead workshops, talks, and storytelling programs based on the very same StoryQuest™ framework we used to reconnect.

I help families, schools, and communities use storytelling to:
âś… Build emotional resilience
âś… Strengthen communication
âś… Empower children to reclaim their narratives

This work isn’t about fairy tales. It’s about freedom.
It’s about using creativity to survive what the system got wrong—and giving children back what it tried to take: their voice.

It’s about helping them go from adversity to agency.
It’s about ensuring no child grows up feeling voiceless.

About Kate

At five, I witnessed a tragic accident that took my grandmother’s life.

My family couldn’t talk about it, but stories connected us—through my mum’s bedtime reading, my grandad’s Yorkshire monologues, and the books that helped me process my emotions and imagine the future.

I later pursued degrees in medicine and genetics before becoming a physiotherapist. After listening to over 5,000 stories in clinical practice, I realised: the answer is always in the story, never the label.

Storytelling became my compass—professionally and personally.

Meet Gabriel

Gabriel has a thirst for adventure. Whether he's exploring outdoors, dreaming up ideas, or trying a new sport, he’s always discovering the world around him.

The Adventures of Gabriel began as a way to preserve our bond—but it grew into something much more.

In these stories, Gabriel becomes his own hero, brave, curious, and full of heart.

Why Stories

We created stories to make meaning out of the madness, to stay connected when the system tried to erase our voices, and to prove to ourselves (and now others) that we all have the power to write our way back to ourselves.

Our Values

✨ Mistakes shape us
✨ Instincts guide us
✨ True strength comes from being unapologetically ourselves

In every story, challenge, and adventure… the possibilities are endless.

Every child deserves to be the hero of their own story.

🌟Build Stronger Bonds – Create meaningful moments through shared storytelling
🌟 Nurture Emotional Growth – Help your child process feelings and build confidence
🌟 Ignite Imagination – Inspire your child to see themselves as the hero of their own story

Storytelling is how we reclaim our power, one word at a time.
