Dino-Mite Fun at Bournemouth’s Dinosaur Golf
Kate Markland
One of our favorite spots in Bournemouth has always been the Dinosaur Golf course. We first discovered it when Gabriel was younger and going through his dinosaur phase, captivated by anything with claws, teeth, and a prehistoric roar. Even though his dinosaur obsession has mellowed over the years, we still love going back. There's something timeless about those giant, grinning dinos and the fun, creative obstacles that make it more than just a game of mini-golf.
Every time we play, scoring becomes its own little adventure. Sometimes, we’re a team, taking on the course together in a Ryder Cup-style showdown, seeing if we can collectively beat the par. Other days, we declare a truce with the scorecard and just play against the course itself. But regardless of how we keep score, the course always has a way of bringing out our competitive spirit—and a lot of laughs.
Today was one of those magical days where everything seemed to align for Gabriel. On one of the trickier holes, he sent the ball flying with just the right angle and force, and to both our surprise, it rolled smoothly into the cup—a perfect hole in one! Gabriel's delight was instant, with a grin spreading from ear to ear as he cheered his own shot. We both high-fived, laughing at his perfect aim and watching him go on to have one of his best rounds yet.
Dinosaur Golf has become a part of our Bournemouth tradition, a place filled with memories of tiny putts, big roars, and our own quirky scoring rules. And whether we’re winning, losing, or just there for the dinosaurs, it’s always an adventure worth returning to.
